Cercle win in Kortrijk!

On a pitch that was in poor shape, Cercle took a 0-2 lead via goals from Ugbo and Pavlovic, but just before half-time Makarenko brought tension back into the match as he pulled one back for the hosts. In the second half Kortrijk tried to play with opportunistic football and individual play through Selemani, but the Cercle defense easily held their own. The match remained full of tension until the end of the nine minutes of injury time, but Cercle held on to the lead and took an important three points.

For Cercle, the team's brand new acquisition Strahinja Pavlovic immediately started, playing together with Bates and Marcelin as the three centre backs in a five-man defense. Kevin Hoggas also returned to the squad, replacing Kanouté in midfield. Vitinho took the place of the injured Velkovski.
