EDGARAS UTKUS AND BORIS POPOVIC HEAD TO CERCLE BRUGES

Edgaras Utkus and Boris Popovic, both 21 years old, have confirmed their moves from from AS Monaco.

Boris Popovic is a right-footed central defender (1.89m) and also a promising international for Serbia. Popovic has been playing for AS Monaco’s youth side since 2017, having previously played for FC Tours. Popovic signs a contract with Cercle until June 2022, with the option of an additional season.

Edgaras Utkus  for his part is a central midfielder of 1m 90cm. Utkus, a Lithuanian, made his debut for the Lithuania A-squad on November 15, 2020 in a friendly against Faroe Islands (in a 2-1 win). A few days later, Utkus was in the Lithuanian starting eleven for the UEFA Nations League game against Belarus (a 2-0 loss). Edgaras Utkus has been playing for Monaco since 2018 and has now signed a deal with Cercle until June 2023, with the option to extend the deal for a further season.

Thibo Somers: “Hopefully we can celebrate again soon with the supporters”
