The international break has arrived, and Cercle have 5 players in action for the countries:
Jesper Daland - Norway U-21
Norway has two games scheduled, both on the road, as they look to qualify for the U-21 European Championship. On Friday Daland and co will take on Finland, and then on Tuesday Norway will head to Azerbaijan. After four matches, Norway sit second in Group A, three points behind group leader Croatia.
Boris Popovic - Serbia U-21
These are busy and crucial times for our U-21 players, because Popovic will also be in action with Serbia as part of his country's qualification campaign for the European Championship in 2023. On Friday Serbia will take on the Faroe Islands at home, and then on Tuesday they will travel to Ukraine. Serbia and Popovic must win to have a chance of qualifying, because after four matches they are second-bottom in their group.
Olivier Deman - Belgium U-21
Olivier Deman is now training with the Belgian U-21s for their two European Championship qualifiers against Turkey (Friday) and Scotland (Tuesday). The Belgians are comfortably in the lead in group I. With 12 points, they are no less than six points ahead of Denmark in second. Turkey and Scotland occupy third and fourth with four and one point(s) respectively.
Dimitar Velkovski - Bulgaria
A friendly and a World Cup qualifier are on the agenda for Bulgaria and Dimitar Velkovski in the coming week. Bulgaria will face Ukraine on Thursday, while their qualifying match against Switzerland is scheduled for Monday. In the Group C the Bulgarians are currently in third place, behind Italy and Switzerland. It's thus an important match for Bulgaria next week, because winning is a must to get closer to the Swiss in the standings.
Kevin Denkey - Togo
After his winning goal against Congo during the previous international break, Denkey will now face Senegal (Thursday) and Namibia (Monday) in the World Cup qualifiers next week.
Good luck to all of our internationals!
